The idea was a fully obligation towards the MOE Regulations and to match with the GCC common culture requirements in a such type of buildings contain both gender which need to be separated from a specific and nominated educational year. FS1 up to Grade 4 mixed and from Grade 5 up to Grade 12 separated. Meanwhile, for each one, the suitable facility and requirements of the outdoor activities should be there like swimming pool, landscaping and play ground with all of the required MEP services from a common service block.
Fully separation between girls and boys from year 5 to year 12, and a mix between both from FS1 and up to year 4, and the separation were designed in a smart way to use the common labs, gym, library and canteen to separate the 2 open yard/courts to 2 different zones.The elevation was consider as a simple modular and modern spirit elevation, while a suitable rectangular glass panel to be used for giving the simplicity effect of the project.
The class as a design module was designed as 54m² unit (6x9m) which contains 24 student maximum.
The source of the natural light areas considered coming from the left side of the student seats which is matching with all the International Standards and Educational Buildings requirements. The children from the FS1 up to 4 year were considered to be put in a separate independent building and to be shared with the year 5 to year 12 girls section’s playground and outdoor facilities, since the young children have their own spaces,behavior and activities which would be matched as a local culture with the girls section.
